A minimum amount of radioactive material is injected into a vein. The blood flow, oxygen use, and metabolism in your body at the cellular level are examined by the PET Scan machine with the help of the material.

CT scans produce a complete image of the tissues and organs, whereas a PET scan provides the activities of the tissues and organs. Due to the fusion of both CT scans and PET CT scans better results are obtained.
