1. Thyroid Function Test:
The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland present in the neck of humans. It produces two hormones T3 and T4 which regulate many functions of the body including metabolism, energy generation, and mood control.
If your thyroid gland does not produce enough levels of these hormones you suffer from a condition called hypothyroidism. In hypothyroidism, you may experience weight gain, lack of energy, depressive mood, dry skin, and hair fall. On the other hand, if excessive hormones are produced, you may lose weight, have tremors or feel anxious. This condition is called hyperthyroidism. The level of vitamin E in the plasma or serum after a 12- to 14-hour fast reflects the individual’s reserve status. The total protein test measures the total amount of protein in your blood and the amount of albumin and globulin. For the test, a blood sample will be drawn and sent to a lab.
