Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome – It is an autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system attacks the tissues that connects the muscles and the nerve or neuromusclular junction.

How to prepare for RNS test?

Normally, the RNS test does not require any special preparations. You should wear loose clothes so that the body parts can be easily accessible. You should avoid applying any kind of cream, powder or ointments on you body.

How is RNS test performed?

A technician will place the electrodes on the muscle that is examined. A series of electric current will be sent through your muscles with the help of electrodes. Your muscle response to these electrical stimuli will be recorded by the electrode.

You may be asked to exercise the muscle that is examined for few minutes during the procedure. The entire procedure may take upto 1 hour to complete depending on the number of muscles examined and information required.
